March 2017 Newsletter

President's Letter I am struggling with what to write this month as February was a month of loss and sadness for club. As you all know, Angela Flocco died earlier this month, and Peg Malloy’s husband died the following week. It is especially hard to write the “president’s letter” without thinking about all that Peg did in her tenure as president for the club, how many letters she wrote over the almost ten years that she led the club, and her unending enthusiasm and love of the club. We ask you to keep Angela, Peg, their families, and friends in your thoughts at this time.

Recently, the Board unanimously revised the officer section of the club's by-laws. The Board also unanimously voted to make some modifications and clarifications regarding our annual Saxby Award and the Woman of the Year award. The full text of these changes can be found on our website.

Make sure to check out the upcoming lunch programs through May, as well as our other regular monthly activities. We have a lot planned for the months ahead. We have also improved our online payment methods to allow you to register and pay for more than one person online. The Board is also developing summer programming to take advantage of the beautiful roof garden on the building. And, we are still looking for members interested in serving on the board or chairing committees, since the 2016-2017 year is 2/3rds over already. Details of all these events and projects can be found in the newsletter, as well as on our website.

I hope to see all of you sooner, rather than later.

Fondly, Max Retsky
