WLC - (We LOVE Being Charitable)

We are in the planning process for our 2017-2018 events. If you are interested in helping out, please contact us at president@wlcglencoe.com

North Shore Exchange

The North Shore Exchange is the philanthropic arm of our club. Not only do our members work in the shop, but they do all the behind the scenes work led by Store Manager Missy Brownson, Wendy Serrino and Susan Sholl. The shop takes over 10,000 volunteer hours a year to run so there is no such thing as too many volunteers given the growth of the store. NSE has met many milestones— increasing sales every year and the many grants they are able to give as a result. If you already volunteer, you know what a rewarding experience it is. Consider making this the year that you get to know what happens in our Hazel building five days a week. Contact Missy at nseglencoe@gmail.com, call 847-835-0026 or just stop over Tuesday-Saturday and check it out. You may also choose to donate or consign clothes and/or household items.

Mend Hunger

Mend Hunger is a nonprofit that works with food pantries to provide gluten free and allergy safe foods to individuals with a medically restricted diet and financial need. Gluten free and allergy safe food easily costs two or three times more and can be a significant financial burden for families. Without access to safe foods parents and children are left to choose between health and hunger. Mend Hunger serves 29 communities across Cook County, including the New Trier Township Food Pantry. Be sure to attend the Candlelight Cabaret on November 11, 2017 and support their community programs!
